Strathclyde Machine Tools Company ProfileFounded in 1975, Ken McAlpine set out to design an innovative power supply that would change the way the machine tool industry would view the EDM. With years of work, the Strathclyde team developed one of the most advanced power supplies of its time. Around this grew larger and more sophisticated power supplies and generators until Ken would envision bigger things.In 1985 Strathclyde Machine Tools moved from a large factory in Sydney, Australia to Taichung in central Taiwan. Here Strathclyde was able to keep up with demand and set the foundation for future expansion. The 80's marked financial success as well as unprecedented growth for Strathclyde. The range of machines grew from EDM Control Systems to complete machines, then a line of Vertical Machining Centre's, and more recently a range of High Speed Machining Centres.Located in Taiwan, the hub of machine tool manufacture has contributed to our success and continual growth in recent years. We have utilized the resources from this environment, both in processes and machine tool not gone unnoticed by larger international machine tool builders. In more recent times this has helped us to successfully fordesign. Our innovative designs and total management of the machine tool process havem bonds with machine tool brands that are looking for supply of quality machinery and management support.Now, armed with experience and a growing management team Strathclyde Machine Tools are able to offer both our own line of machine tools as well Original Export Manufacture (OEM) Supply to selected machine tool companies and distributors
