HS 2344 Hot Work Die Steel

  • Place of Origin:Jiangyin
  • Minimum order:1
HS 2344 using 1.2344 steel is pressure-resistant hot-working die steel. The performance and use of HS material 2344 are basically the same as that of H13 steel, and it is one of the widely used hot work die steels. HS 2344 steel material can withstand huge mechanical stress, as well as great thermal stress caused by repeated heating and cooling.

HS 2344 Steel Material Applications
HS material 2344 is suitable for making aluminum alloy die-casting molds.

HS 2344 steel equivalent is suitable for making tools and mandrels used in hot extrusion and perforation, hammer forging dies, mechanical press forging dies, high-speed precision forging dies and plastic press dies, etc.

HS 2344 Material Equivalent Features
With electro slag remelting, the hot die steel properties have uniform material, good hardenability, excellent machining performance and polishing performance, high toughness and plasticity, good high-and-low-temperature wear resistance, high-temperature fatigue resistance and heat resistance.

The 2344 steel has no cracks on the surface layer after repeated heating and cooling and resistance to the impact and erosion of the liquid metal flow.

2344 Steel Material Equivalent
1.2344 material and its 1.2344 steel equivalent are pressure-resistant hot-work die steel. After electro-slag remelting, the 1.2344 material has uniform microstructure, good hardenability, excellent machinability and polishing performance, high toughness, and plasticity, good wear resistance in high and low temperature, high-temperature fatigue resistance, and heat resistance.

You can find 1.2344 steel equivalent to AISI H13 / JIS G4404 SKD61.

Material 2344 Heat Treatment
Soft Annealing:

820 to 860°C, after being heated through, cooling down to 600°C at a rate of 10°C/h with the furnace, then air-cooling, hardness max 230 HB.

Stress relief annealing: after rough machining, heating to 650℃ and holding for more than 2h, cooling down to 500℃ with the furnace and then air cooling.

Quenching:

Preheating under protective atmosphere to 500-600 ℃ for the first time, 820-860 ℃ for the second time, and finally heating to 1010-1040℃.

Quenching after being heated through at the quenching temperature for more than 30 minutes, hardness will be 51-55HRC.

Tempering:

Slowly heating to tempering temperature 560-600 °C after quenching, and it is recommended at least twice tempering. Achievable hardness: 46−50 HRC.
