Appearance: pure colorless liquid, industrial product is colorless to pale yellow liquid, bitter almond smell. Slightly soluble in water, but soluble in alcohol, benzene, chloroform.

Use:

1: an important chemical raw material, used in making lauraldehyde, lauric acid, phenyl acetaldehyde and benzyl benzoate, also used as a spice.

2: used as a methylene reagent for determination of ozone, phenols, alkaloids and located in the carboxyl side.

3: can be used as a special head fragrant spices, trace for floral formula, such as lilac, jasmine, violet, Jin Hehuan Prynne, sunflower, sweet, Tofu pudding, plum, orange flower etc.. Soap also available. Also can be used as edible spice used for almond, coconut cream, berries, cherries, apricots, peaches, 4, big walnut, big plum, vanilla bean, spicy flavor.
