The CIRAS-2 with our integrated Chlorophyll Fluorescence Module (CFM) is a powerful tool for photosynthesis research. The CFM provides measurement of chlorophyll fluorescence using the Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) technique. The pulsed fluorescence that is induced by the modulation beam is used to probe the efficiency of light-use for photosystem II photochemistry. Our LED light unit has been extensively redeveloped to include chlorophyll fluorescence detection capabilities, while retaining all normal functionality as an actinic light source for gas exchange measurements. The modified unit provides the modulating beam, saturating pulses, far-red illumination and fluorescence detection required for fluorescence measurement, in a remarkably compact, solid-state and lightweight unit. This requires no additional power sources. The following gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters are automatically calculated on demand: Leaf Gas Exchange Assimilation (Pn), Internal CO2 (Ci), Stomatal Conductance (Gs), Evaporation/Transpiration (E), Vapour Pressure Deficit (VPD) Chlorophyll Fluorescence Fo, Fm, Fv, Fv/Fm (Max Yield), Fs, Fm', Fo', zSII or F/Fm' (Yield), qP, qNP, NPQ, PAR, TEMP and ETR Powerful User Interface Software Measurements can be programmed by the user for manual or automated measurements, such as response curves. The CIRAS-2 provides software control and programmable automation of the measurements, permitting fully integrated gas exchange and chlorophyll fluorescence data to be simultaneously collected, displayed and saved as a combined record. The user has control over all light intensities and durations, modulating beam levels and fluorescence detector gain. The light unit consists of high precision LED's and filters for accurate measurement of chlorophyll fluorescence while retaining all functionality as an actinic light for leaf gas exchange. The same software can be used to control the CIRAS-2 remotely from your lab or notebook PC. Light Sources Modulating Beam 627 nm (Red) Actinic Light Red and White LED's Range: 0-2,000
