By combining Euro Steels resources and expertise with our substantial network of contacts, together over the next few years, we plan to grow the companys revenue to over R1 billion per annum, says Zolile.
With the building blocks identified, both Zolile and Colin agree that the next step is to grow Euro Steel by leaps and bounds.
We are targeting those sectors in which BEE will be playing an active role in the supply of the material used to manufacture the final products, Zolile adds.
Whilst the size of the Government market is substantial, Euro Steel will also be targeting other markets in which it already participates. One of these, South Africas burgeoning automotive sector, is another market that the company has identified as having huge potential especially for aluminium.
Over the next five years, the Government has earmarked R372 billion to develop infrastructure in the country. As one of the significant stainless steel and aluminium distributors in South Africa, we want Euro Steel to have the opportunity to be involved as a supplier on these projects, Zolile explains.
Dr Zolile Maqetuka, Chairman of the Isitali Consortium, says the Consortium comprises individuals focused on the engineering sector and in this regard, the priority will be on supplying products for the Governments identified infrastructure development projects.
This mutual suitability has been part of the reason it took Euro Steel and the Isitali Consortium just six months to complete the restructuring of the Group, raise the necessary funding and complete the transaction.
From the outset, we liked the synergies between the two companies as the Isitali Consortium is made up of people who are in the industrial market and are already users of stainless steel and aluminium products, he comments.

Dealing in stainless steel, 3CR12 and aluminium products, Euro Steel employs over 350 people through its countrywide branch network.
