Water Repellant: The MAGIC IGNITER fatwood is highly concentrated with a natural resin which repels water. When wet using your knife scrap off a very thin outer layer. The inner layer will be dry and ready for use. Just shave small shavings and light.
Create A Tiki Torch: Find your way in the dark, send a distress signal for help, assist to start additional fires or build an existing one. Using your knife create several deep 45 degree slices around the circumference of the stick about 1" from the end. This is called "Burring the End". Once you have burred the end, light to create a small tiki torch - Burring the end creates a large flame when lit at the end of the stick. Burring the stick slows the flame from moving down the stick thus allowing it to be used for a longer period of time.
Produces Large Flame: Using just a few shavings, once lit the shavings will burn with intense heat and penetration
Most Economical Fire Starter: Can be reused - Immediately after use, using your knife, just scraps away the black glaze on the end of the stick to remove. This allows re-starting and burring the end much easier when used the next time. Re-use again and again until the stick is too short to shave but still good to use in your fire.
