With inspiration from Baja 1000 racing desert trucks, the HPI Baja 5T is in a class of its own. With an integrated roll cage, this truck is desert ready right from the box. Looking rugged and tough, the 5T features flared fenders, louvers, scoops, and comes in your choice of a painted black or white finished body. In addition, the front skid plate, real bead-locks and Desert Buster tires, the Baja 5T looks like it rolled right out of the Baja 1000 desert race in Ensenada, Mexico.
Beneath its tough skin, the 26cc gasoline powered engine delivers more than most can bargain for. Bellowing out speeds of 40+ MPH, the Baja 5T can deliver run times upwards of 30 minutes. Roosting dirt up from a launch, the 5T sounds like a beast with its high flow muffler and 8,000-RPM high performance clutch.
With increased suspension travel HPI modified the rear shock tower with desert rats in mind, including four shock absorbers with thick diameter shafts for extra durability. These VVC/HD shocks are tuned for smooth suspension dampening to help soak up the roughest of conditions. Extreme durability was the benchmark for the engineers at HPI when developing the Baja 5T.
