At last, reiterate the subtle but vital function exerted by the locked front door, it provides controlled access to card readers and power switch.
It is easy to detach the chasis where contains the CPU, ATX power supply and etc, from the unit. How? By unlocking and openning the front door, unscrew few screws and 2 connecters, it will be slided out.
Accessaries include poled customer display (2 lines x 20 characters, with RS232 interface),
MSR (magnectic slot reader, 3 tracks) and a multiple memory card reader.
The CPU used is an Atom N270, 1.6GHz from Intel, 512k cache, 1G DDR2 DRAM, the LCD, a 15.6" wide screen type, and the touch panel, a 5-wires resistive one. 3 RS232 ports are incorporated for traditional retail establishment users, 2 of which are powered (both 5V and 12V) RS232 ports.
And also there is the Pegasus GAMA version , which combines the boot compact flash reader with the Hard Disk.
The Pegasus BETA version adapts a HD instead of the bootable compact flash reader.
For the lowest price model, the Pegasus E-POS CAPRICORN ALPHA come with a bootable compact flash reader, hiden inside of the front door (with key lock) with which method the unnecessary access can be avoided, without HD, is the definitive one.
