Cast pins
Customers artwork, films, or graphic files are used to produce films for each color. Then, one printing plate for each color is produced for the design. This omputerized printing process may reproduce any colored artwork or photos. There are no metal lines to separate the colors. Clear epoxy is recommended to protect the surface from color fading and scratching.
Offset Printing
it can achieve a close duplication of the original color artwork. PMS colors are used for reference. Clear Epoxy is recommended to protect the surface from scratching.
This process is designed to complement other processes that have areas hard to fill with enamel colors because no metal lines are required to separate different colors.
Silkscreen Printing
Metal lines are required to separate different colors. Silkscreen colors may be added to enhance small details. Clear epoxy is recommended to protect the enamel from color fading and cracking.
The design is transferred from a photographic negative onto a thin brass metal. An acid reaction process then etches the surface of the metal. Soft enamel is inserted into the recessed areas. No inside holes are allowed. PMS colors can be matched.
Photo-etched Soft Enamel
The mould and outline cutting processes are similar to Cloisonne and imitation cloisonne. The recessed areas are filled with soft enamel. PMS colors can be matched. Metal lines are required to separate different colors. Clear epoxy is recommended to protect the enamel from color fading and cracking. Silkscreen cannot be combined with die-struck soft enamel due to the uneven surface between the metal and enamel color.
Die-Struck Soft Enamel
Epola is an economical alternative to Cloisonne. It has a similar process to loisonne except the recessed areas are filled with brilliant colored resin. It is not as hard as cloisonne, but it looks shinier, reveals better details, and PMS color matching is manageable. Metal lines are required to separate different colors. Silkscreen colors may be added to enhance small details.
Imitation Cloisonne (Epola)
Cloisonne is classic, long lasting, and has high value. Colors are baked one at a time at an extremely high temperature! However, the cloisonne powder cannot be mixed like paints or soft enamel as each color returns to its own shade after heating. Therefore, no exact PMS colors can be matched. Metal lines are required to separate different colors. Silkscreen colors may be added to enhance small details.
