7.  Other chemicals Our railtankcars are also capable of transporting tar, pitch, naphthalene and other petroleum products which need to be heated up for loading/discharging procedure.

6.   Ou Kemtrans Grupp owns 190 specialized railtankcars for bitumen transportation equipped with heat insulation and electric heating system. These are both 15-1532 and 15-1534 types of car-tanks capable of carrying 50 and 54 tons of bitumen respectively. The insulation layer of a tank-car is 20 cm thick due to which bitumen does not cool down for a relatively long time. Thus, bitumen having the temperature of +165 C at the time of loading will reach the consumer with its temperature being +140 C after 14 day long railing. Being equipped with heating coils tank-cars can be easily and quickly heated up so that the temperature rises by 3-5 degrees an hour, and even in case the bitumen has completely cooled down it can be heated up again within 48 hours. Discharging of bitumen can be carried out through the upper aperture by means of squeezing-out with high-pressure air. This simplified procedure and does not demand of any trestle approach or pumping stations. Our railtankcars can deliver bitumen to any rail-way station in Europe or Asia (changing mounted wheels so that to switch over from the 1520 Russian gauge to the 1435 one wherever required).

Our practice of many years has proved that producing bitumen in accordance with the Russian standard it is possible to bring each concrete batch of the product in compliance with the European standard. Thus, for three years now we have been producing 50/70, 60/80 and 70/100 bitumen grades from the Russian 60/90 grade.

5. Quality

In light of the above, we prefer fixed selling monthly prices.

In winter, when there is a fall in local demand, bitumen prices can be very attractive. It is only Belarus that trades in bitumen in accordance with the price formula on the basis of Barges FOB Rotterdam quotations. However, they cannot use USD for their deals, and their price for a month is quoted in EUR proceeding from the monthly average quotation for the following month (but not for the current one).

Producers in the Ukraine and Russia quote a fixed price in USD for every month, proceeding from prices set for their local markets, local demand, and export prices for black fuel-oil.

4. Bitumen Prices

 

We are ready to start loading in 2009.

High speed, low costs and the fact that it can be used in any port.

Loading is carried out directly from the tanks there is no need for any transitional container. The advantages of such a method are as follows:

Bitumen is heated up in railway tanks by electric coils the railway tanks are equipped with.

Rate of loading is 50 tons per hour.

Bitumen is to be heated (175?C) and loaded into a 20ft ISO BULKCONTAINER (25 tons each).

Loading and shipment is organized through the Baltic Sea ports of Riga (Latvia), Klaipeda (Lithuania), and the Black Sea port of Iljichevsk (the Ukraine). We are currently working on organization of loading procedures and shipment from other ports of the former USSR.
