100% Sulphur Locked Up In Coal, Stop Acid Rain

Shape: Briquette

We have a new briquetting technology available for locking up 100% sulphur in coal, thus eliminating the chance of acid rain. Furthermore this briquetting technology is different from most solid fuels in that there is no pollution caused by its production. There is no heating process or production of concentrated smoke in one area to produce a clean burning product, as is the case with other fuels. When coal is mined, cleaned and transported, considerable quantities of fine coal (particles less than 5mm) are generated. This fine coal is often unsuitable for the end process and, even where the size is not a problem, retains large amounts of water (10% -30% ) which can make it sticky, difficult and inefficient to handle transport and burn. Consequently fine coal is often rejected by buyers. We briquette this fine coal into approximately 30mm-50mm lumps with very low moisture, and without any changes to the chemical properties of the coal. The briquettes can then be handled, transported and used as normal lumped coal. The unique part of this technology is the fact that we are able to lock up the sulphur content in the coal so that there are no sulphur emissions into the atmosphere thus eliminating the possibility of acid rain. This briquetted coal gives out 8 times more heat than normal coal. This technology has been tested by an independent coal industry research laboratory. The results noted that the briquetted material locked up the sulphur 100% . We manufacture briquettes for both industrial and domestic use. For industrial use the briquettes are used in power stations and steel mills. For domestic purposes they are used for home heating in winter, and for barbeques etc. This unique briquetting technology whereby we are able to lock up any sulphur emissions that may occur from burning of high sulphur coal. Using our technology there are no sulphur emissions, no odor and no smoke on burning this briquetted coal.
