When our fine sand recovery pumps are initially designed, we usually have one extra pump as a backup pump. So if the backup pump is never used, should it be left there forever? Of course not, our backup pump also needs to be cranked regularly.

Let’s take a look at the role of regular turning. First, prevent the impeller and other spare parts from getting stuck in the pump cavity if the pump is not used for a long time. Second, regular cranking is to prevent the pump shaft from deforming. Third, regular cranking can also bring lubricating oil to various lubrication points to prevent the shaft from rusting. The bearings are lubricated, which is beneficial to driving immediately in an emergency.

What happens if the slurry pump generates abnormal heat during operation? Common causes of abnormal heating of the slurry pump: If it is hot and accompanied by noise, it is usually because the bearing ball isolator is damaged; the bearing sleeve in the bearing box is loose, and the front and rear glands are loose, causing heat due to friction; the bearing hole is too large. The outer ring of the guide bearing is loose; there are foreign objects in the pump cavity; the rotor vibrates greatly, causing the sealing ring to wear; the pump is evacuated or the load of the pump is too large; the rotor is unbalanced; too much or too little lubricating oil and the oil quality is unqualified.
